1. Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips
With simple ingredients like corn and sweet potato flours, sea salt and honey, these chips get a high rating from me. They are just the right combination of salty and crunchy, with a hint of sweetness. Sweet potato Tortilla Chips are also very low in sugar (only 2g per serving) and gluten free.
2. Mojito Salmon
I love Mojito Salmon because it's spicey and flavorful. As far as frozen entrees go, this one's pretty darn good. In fact, I try to serve it about once a week. The portion sizes are big enough to feed my husband, me and 2 picky little boys.
3. Kale & Cauliflower Salad
This small salad combo of kale, cauliflower and wheat berries is mixed with a light apple cider dressing and curry. Who knew kale and cauliflower could be tasty? If you are trying to limit your sugar intake, this salad has only 4g per serving. I like to add some grilled chicken for a light, healthy meal.
4. Green Beans and Grains
I microwave more than I care to admit, so I'm always on the hunt for a healthy dinner option for those nights when my kids and husband have other dinner plans. Being an almost Vegetarian, I'm happy to eat this savory entree of kale, Garbanzo Beans, peanuts and couscous. It's a filling dish that containes a mere 280 calories per container. Not bad!
5. Coconut Cookies
I love these because they are light, crunchy and sweet. Sometimes you just want a little something with your coffee or milk, and this is it! I also love these cookies because I always crave something at night. Eating a few of these won’t hurt because they’re only 130 calories per serving. The great part: 1 serving is 8 cookies!
6. Harvest Grain Salad
Don't let the bland name fool you! Sure it has some unexiciting ingredients like Farro Wheat, Black Barley, kale and quinoa. But with tasty additions like Butter Nut Squash, cinnamon, cranberries, apple, pecans and pear, this is no boring salad!
7. Spicy Hummus Dip
I love hummus, and one of my favorite Trader Joes flavors is Spicy. If you’re not sure which flavor you will love the best, try the sampler, featuring 4 different flavors.
8. Mini Cucumbers
I never used to like cucumbers until I discovered the smaller ones. I usually pick up a bag for the week. One of my favorite, go-to lunches is a sliced cucumber with hummus and tortilla chips or multi-grain crackers.
9. Organic Super Food Quinoa
I always keep a pack of this in the freezer because it’s a great side dish. If you add a protein, it also makes a great main course meal as well. Super Food Quinoa is full of good things like kale and sweet potato which are both vitamin and nutrient rich.
10. Cranberry Coconut Snacking Crackers
These crackers don't contain any mystery ingredients. Doesn't it make you feel good when you can pronounce everything on the nutrition label. Yummy crackers...enough said!
What healthy treasures do you like from Trader Joe's?
I love Angie's Boom Chicka Pop! It is my current favorite, go-to snack. If you want to satisfy your desire for something yummy and crunchy, this is a great way to snack without breaking the calorie bank. Boom Chicka Pop comes in a variety of flavors, but my favorite is Lightly Sweet. One serving is only 120 calories. Did I mention that one serving is a whopping 3 1/4 cups?! This guiltless snack is free from just about everything, as you can see from the back of the bag. Warning: make sure you put some in a well portioned container, or you might find yourself munching the whole bag.
